Why did I receive a summons and what do I do now?
State law mandates the process for selecting prospective jurors. Each county receives a list of potential jurors from the Secretary of State that consists of those individuals in the county that are registered to vote, hold a Texas driver's license, or hold a Texas identification card. Citizens on the list are randomly selected and mailed a summons to report for jury service. By logging into our portal, you will be able to complete the requirements online. Currently, all jury service will be done remotely through the Zoom platform. All jurors must test their devices prior to appearing.
By logging into this portal, you will be able to report as a juror and respond to the questionnaire. If you do not report through the juror portal, you must return the completed summons and questionnaire by mail or in person by the date specified on the summons. Questions? Email Jury-Service@mckinneytexas.org with your name & phone number.
